The referrer (Psychiatrist, Solicitor, yourself) will contact
me directly with details about the particular problem/s.
I will write to the referrer and yourself with an offer of
an initial appointment
Included in the initial appointment letter will be some information
about the process and some forms to read relating to payment
policy, confidentiality and background information
We will meet for an initial assessment appointment lasting
50 mins
An initial assessment report will be produced based on the
initial contact which will include recommendations for an individualised
intervention programme (cognitive behaviour therapy, interpersonal
therapy, problem solving therapy etc)
Therapy will then take place on a weekly basis if appropriate.
The therapy process can take anything from 6–20 weeks.
If I am unable to offer the specific intervention required then
I can recommend other specialist services
On completion of the process, another report is produced
for yourself and the referrer outlining progress and recommendations
for the future. You
may be asked to complete a session evaluation form to assess
the service you have received
